Bite size food, skewered on a stick, and grilled to perfection! Kabobs are the perfect meal to serve up at your next Summer backyard gathering. Whether serving a crowd or just a few intimate friends, any of these recipes are sure to be a huge hit.

Before we get to all of the delicious recipes, I thought I would answer some common questions about cooking skewers!

How do you keep the food from spinning on the skewers when cooking kabobs?

This is definitely a common occurrence when you are trying to turn your meat while grilling it. The main way to fix this problem is to use a second skewer! Once you’ve threaded the food onto the first skewer, push a second skewer through it all as well. This will create a great support to keep the meat from spinning, making it easier to evenly cook your food.

Are kabobs healthy?

There’s not really a great way to answer this question, because of how many different varieties of kabobs there are. You will find some that are just for dessert, some compiled of just fresh veggies and others that are compliant with different modern diets. Just make sure you check each individual recipe for whether or not it is healthy.

Can you cook kabobs without a grill?

Yes, you absolutely can. A great way to do it is using your broil setting in the oven. you can also bake them in your oven. Just like you would bake a chicken breast, or roast some veggies, you can also cook a kabob.

What vegetables are good on kabobs?

There’s a huge variety of vegetables that can be used with your kabobs. The main things to keep in mind is that all vegetables cook at a different rate. The harder the vegetable (carrots) the longer they take to cook. But then you have soft vegetables (like squash or mushrooms) that cook quicker. You will want to use a combination of vegetables that will cook at roughly the same time.
