China's Unitree Robotics has unveiled the G1-D, a groundbreaking wheeled humanoid robot designed to revolutionize fast, repetitive tasks in various industries. This cutting-edge model, available in Standard and Flagship versions, boasts an impressive speed of 5 feet per second, making it a versatile tool for complex operations in industrial, warehouse, service, and retail environments. With its advanced hardware and integrated software platform, the G1-D is set to transform the way we approach automation and AI development.
The G1-D's design and mobility features are truly remarkable. The mobile version, with its wheeled base and differential drive, can reach speeds of 5 feet per second, covering a height range of 49.5 to 66 inches and weighing up to 176 pounds. It offers 19 degrees of freedom, excluding effectors, with each arm capable of carrying up to 6.6 pounds. The waist joint provides a wide range of motion, allowing the robot to move up to 155 degrees along the Z-axis and from -2.5 to 135 degrees along the Y-axis, with a vertical working range of 0 to 6.6 feet.
One of the G1-D's standout features is its advanced vision and dexterity capabilities. Equipped with a high-definition binocular camera on its head and additional cameras on each wrist, it supports multiple end effectors, including two-finger grippers, three-finger manipulators with or without touch sensors, and a five-finger dexterous hand. This enables the robot to handle a variety of objects, perform inspections, and execute repetitive manual tasks efficiently.
The Flagship version takes it a step further with an Nvidia Jetson Orin NX module, delivering an astonishing 100 TOPS of AI processing power. This allows the robot to operate autonomously for up to six hours without frequent charging. Unitree's integrated software platform, which includes data collection, task management, annotation, and simulation, supports distributed AI model training and integrates with frameworks like GROOT and PI. Trained models can be directly exported to the robot for deployment, making it easier to scale AI applications.
The G1-D's versatility is evident in its ability to assist in warehouse logistics, industrial operations, service environments, and retail spaces. Its mobile base and dexterous arms make it suitable for tasks requiring precision and adaptability, from handling packages to interacting with customers or conducting research. By combining mobility, dexterity, and full AI workflow management, Unitree's G1-D represents a significant advancement in humanoid robotics, offering organizations a powerful tool to automate labor-intensive tasks and support AI development in practical settings.
