SUMMARY
- Black Clover is currently on indefinite hiatus and Studio Pierrot has made no confirmations of when Season 5 will be released.
- Thus a fan-made Black Clover Season 5 trailer is currently receiving hype for its awesome take on the series in the midst of a never-ending wait.
- The trailer is made as a collection of several shots from the existing episodes and it has bowled over fans of the anime.
After an abrupt last episode of the Black Clover anime and its indefinite hiatus, fans are slowly becoming impatient for the next part of the story to air. To be fair, the last that fans saw of the anime was in March 2021. It has been more than three years, and Studio Pierrot has yet to reveal its return date.
What’s worse is that the studio announced a hiatus just as the series was getting to the good part, that is, the battle against the Dark Triad. But after enough waiting and counting of days, fans have decided to take matters into their own hands.
Indefinite Hiatus Leads to the Debut of a Fan-Made Black Clover Season 5 Trailer
Fan-made videos and MVs are the backbone of any series. In fact, people often get badgered with different shorts or reels of an anime before they are convinced to watch it. Fan-made trailers also have a special place in the hearts of fandoms as they are created with the fans’ love and respect, and viewers can observe how much love has gone into the making of the videos.

Anime Nerd is a YouTube channel that specialises in creating trailer mashups. Also known as recut trailers, these include shots from an anime or movie and are put together to create a fresh story. Oftentimes, these edits are so good that they can even overpower actual trailers. One Black Clover fan-made video is so good that fans of the anime are happy with it despite no official confirmation of a new season.
This fanmade video tries to predict what Season 5 of the anime will look like once its official trailer is out. It’s almost a Hollywood-like trailer that shows all the major characters who are on the verge of a life-changing battle. The tension created through music is thrilling, to say the least. Yami and William are also shown as their lives are on the line while Asta’s devil powers also take a central position in the video as both he and Yuno need to get stronger to face the Dark Triad.
Black Clover‘s Season 5 Delay was Necessary for the Anime
By the time Black Clover anime received its 170th episode, only 6 months’ worth of manga chapters were left to be adapted. If the anime had continued down its usual path, the only option left would have been to introduce filler episodes. The previous filler episodes of Black Clover have already faced enough criticism for Studio Pierrot not to go down that road anymore.

Thus, Pierrot and Yuki Tabata‘s decision to put the anime on hold was simply taken to prevent Black Clover from becoming the next Boruto. Yuki Tabata’s health issues also acted up around the same time, and the manga ended up shifting to a quarterly schedule. At the moment, new chapters are released once every four months, which is nowhere near the previous weekly production volume.
Thus, rather than telling unrelated stories to keep the audience busy, the staff and creator chose to give the series a break. This decision also prevented the anime from receiving low-quality episodes, which would have ultimately angered fans.
Black Clover manga is available to read on Viz Media, and the anime is currently streaming on Hulu.
