Sometimes you just need a red carpet foundation that delivers on all fronts, much like Reese Witherspoon when she is at an awards ceremony.

The Morning Show star and Elizabeth Arden ambassador loves her beauty buys and she looks like daughter Ava's sister rather than her mum, so she's doing lots of things right.

Now we know that the petite actress also has a red carpet favourite foundation, we wanted to take a closer look at the makeup that shoppers say is the 'best long-wear product I have found in years.' If you love long-wear matte foundation, this has your name all over it.

Reese Witherspoon - Foundation

The news comes from Reese Witherspoon's MUA Kelsey Deenihan who pointed the star's face for an awards ceremony recently. Her face base looked utterly flawless (even up close), and it was clear that Deenihan had chosen a foundation that would withstand heat, camera flashes on the red carpet and the hours spent at the awards.

She listed the products she put on Reese and there it was - Dior Forever Matte Foundation in the shade 3.5N, a warm foundation shade with neutral undertones.

Dior doesn't usually come to mind when thinking about long-wear foundation, but the Forever line has incredible staying power, lasting through a red carpet moment or long summer night. Shoppers give it five stars pretty much everywhere for its coverage and the fact that a little goes a long way.

Deenihan would have chosen the Matte version because Reese Witherspoon was getting ready to be photographed for the world to see but if radiance is your bag, Dior also has a Forever Glow Foundation, a face base with the same all-day cover and a dewy finish. We don't know about you, but there are plenty of occasions where we want all the cover for a special event, and we want to wear it all day without touch-ups, too.
