Easy Apple Crisp Recipe Post Preview: Enjoy this wonderful fall comfort food with this easy to make recipe. Make it even better by adding some vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce!

I have a confession to make: I really don’t like cooked apples. I hate apple pie. You know how some people love to have warm cinnamon apples? Ugh. Not me. Even the thought of that gives me a chill.

However, for some reason, I actually really like apple crisp. I think it must be that amazing crumble on the top that makes me give cooked apples a reprieve. I also think that I oppose warm apples because I don’t like the texture. So, the crumble really changes that up.

So, to honor the one way that I liked cooked apples, I’m sharing an Easy Apple Crisp Recipe. This is a perfect fall comfort food, especially if you’ve got a trip to the apple orchard in your future.

Kids in the Kitchen Notes for This Recipe

If you have kids that are very handy in the kitchen, use the oven alone, and have good knife skills, they may be able to make this recipe with little or no assistance.

Some steps that I especially recommend for kids of many ages for this recipe:

  • Helping to combine ingredients
  • Peeling and/or cutting apples (depending on abilities and level of kitchen safety skills)
  • Coating apples
  • Leveling out apples to be evenly in the pan
  • Spreading crumble on apples
  • Scooping ice cream for serving with finished dessert

You may also find other ways to have your kids help, depending on their ages and abilities.
